San Francisco Producer/DJ Russ Rich & Singer-Songwriter Debby Holiday team up for a modern-day dance take on the 1974 Ann Peebles Memphis Soul classic, “I Can’t Stand The Rain,” also made famous by such luminaries as Tina Turner, disco-funk band Eruption, and Lowell George.
Holiday’s vocal is powerful and gritty. With two remixes co-produced with Andy Allder, the 120 BPM “Club Mix” is a funkier/more disco-y version that gives nods to the Eruption cover while making it a house anthem all its own. Featuring richly colorful melodies, enthusiastic horns, fat pianos, and masterfully layered vocals, the “Piano House Mix” at 126 BPM is a perfect peak-time mix that will get your heart thumping and your feet moving.
Remixes Part 2 will include club mixes by Dirty Disco & Matt Consola, Larry Peace, Rob Moore, Oscar Velazquez, and The Disko Katz.
