RUSS RICH & ANDY ALLDER TURN UP THE GLITTER WITH NEW SINGLE “DISCO LIGHTS”
The longtime production duo deliver a euphoric, disco-charged anthem about losing yourself “under the disco lights.”
Russ Rich & Andy Allder are back with “Disco Lights,” a euphoric celebration of the dance floor, inspired by that unmistakable moment when the music takes over, the lights start to shimmer, and the rest of the world disappears.
The project began when Allder suggested Rich write lyrics and come up with an idea for their next release. The inspiration arrived while Rich was preparing for Romp T-Dance, whose theme this year was a cheeky Studio 54-inspired celebration: “Romp 69: The Dirty Discotheque.” Immersed in disco classics and the sounds of the era, Rich began thinking about that magical moment when you take your problems to the dance floor and simply leave the world behind.
“I wanted to capture that feeling of losing yourself on the dance floor — when the music takes over and, for a few minutes, nothing else matters,” says Rich. “The idea of being ‘under the disco lights’ became the starting point for the song.”
Rich began with the hook – a chorus – creating the foundation for a track built to capture the energy and escapism of the dance floor. From there, Rich and Allder layered in classic disco elements — strings, synths and vintage-inspired sounds — while giving them a contemporary club treatment.
The result is “Disco Lights,” a track that looks back to the glittering freedom of the disco era while keeping its feet firmly planted on today’s dance floor.
The new single follows the duo’s 2026 release “Body and Soul” and continues a creative partnership that has been going strong for more than a decade.
For DJs, dancers and anyone who knows that feeling when the lights drop, the beat kicks in and the night takes over, “Disco Lights” is an invitation to let go, turn it up and leave the world behind.
