Riquee Martin

Riquee Martin (pronounced “Rick‑kay”), born Richard Kay Martin in Atlanta, GA, is a stage-honed vocalist and theatrical drag performer whose sound and presence were forged in youth theater and regional musical productions around the world. Raised as a military brat, he cut his teeth in children’s and youth musicals including Once Upon a Mattress, The Music Man, Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr., Beauty and the Beast, Seussical, Aladdin, Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, and Wicked.

Martin discovered his true performance home when he began playing cross‑dressing roles in Kinky Boots, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, La Cage aux Folles, and The Rocky Horror Show. Choosing the drag name Riquee — spelled to avoid confusion with a famous artist and pronounced “Rick‑kay” — he built a bold aesthetic that pairs show‑stopping visuals with a rich, powerful stage voice.

Rejecting lip‑sync as enough, Riquee focuses on live vocals and theatrical, high‑energy productions. In 2024 he connected with DJ/producer Matt Consola (Swishcraft Music) and songwriter Tim Snyder and joined the We Shine Collective, an eight‑producer project creating uplifting, inclusive vocal house geared for early‑evening, poolside, and beach play. Those sessions produced the singles “We Shine” and “Be Yourself,” released in 2025 and 2026, Martin’s first two commercial releases. Both tracks appeared on the Swishcraft Pride Compilation 2026 opening and closing the compilation, and picked up airplay on KGAY 106.5 FM (Palm Springs), Pulse 87 FM (New York), Frisky Radio, WGAY / Party 105.7 FM, Dance FM / Radio.net and other stations.

Due to an exclusivity agreement with a U.S. reality TV production in 2026, Riquee’s credits were temporarily limited on initial releases, but he is credited as vocalist and co‑songwriter on the We Shine Collective singles and on an upcoming late‑summer release via Full On! Music. Riquee Martin continues to blend theatrical storytelling, commanding live vocals, and dance‑forward house music to create performances that are joyous, inclusive, and unapologetically theatrical.
