Peacefreqz are the duo of DJ/producers BB Hayes & Larry Peace.
BB Hayes is a legendary music innovator who was a guiding member in establishing the San Francisco Bay Area underground club renaissance of the late ’80s & early ’90s. From his early days in radio mix-show production for iconic stations like KMEL 106.9 FM & Wild 97.7 FM where he worked on seminal weekend late night shows like St. John’s House Nationto working alongside legendary on-air talent and mentors like the late Cameron Paul, Hayes quickly expanded his talents to remixing where he worked alongside Paul producing remixes for the DJ-Promo services MIXX-IT and Wicked Mix. At the same time, Hayes was headlining all of the largest clubs and parties in the San Francisco Bay Area, holding down residencies at the legendary DNA Lounge then owned by famous Hollywood brothers John and (comedian/actor) Rob Schneider as well as 1015 Folsom and the newly established but soon to be iconic Ruby Skye, where Hayes now iconic, eclectic style of house music set the standard for Ruby Skye’s success and the talent they would regularly bring in.
Fast forward to 2023, after a string of underground solo releases in the late 2010’ and early 2020’s, Hayes along with Smashmouth’s Greg Camp released BB Hayes & Greg Camp feat. Jemma Jones – How Long (Has This Been Going On). A club reimagining of the Paul Carrack pend 1974 classic rock mega-hit “How Long (Has this Been Going on) by British rock band ACE, Hayes & Camp’s cover on America’s Swishcraft Music dominated dance floors worldwide and went Top 10 peaking at #6 on the Contemporary Pop Dance Charts in the UK. Additional 2025 singles “Live Your Life” with Jemma Jones, “Give Me The Night” with Angelala, and a cover of Gabrielle’s 90’s classic “Dreams” solidified a new level of success for Hayes as each single entered the UK Top 20, while “Give Me The Night” with Angelala peaked at #6.
DJ/Producer Larry Peace is the funky side of dance music. A DJ, producer and self-proclaimed “house head” hailing from Minneapolis with a smooth style on the decks, and an underlying funk in his performances and productions. No matter what genre he works in, everything is rooted in funk and soul music as he delivers grooves that fall within the sweet spot of chill and deep house, old-school funk, and tech house. That retro funk and jackin’ house music are his roots and preferred weapon of choice, however, his versatility is constantly called into play. This has forced him to find a way to incorporate his world into the music world around him making for his own brand of funky noise.
As founder of Supa Qween Records, Larry crafts a sound that seamlessly bridges the soulful roots of funk/R&B, and disco with cutting-edge house music celebrating the foundational values of dance music culture – love, unity, and acceptance – while pushing the boundaries of what modern house music can be. His pivotal role as Prince‘s personal DJ catapulted him into the spotlight, but it’s Peace’s magnetic presence behind the decks and behind mixing boards that has kept him at the forefront of electronic music. His signature style – dynamic, fluid, and perpetually fresh – continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Whether it’s remixing for influential dance labels like Whitebeard Records, Boogie Brunch, Funky Revival, More Than House!!, sync.records, Swishcraft, Tazmania or working with iconic artists like Lee Dagger (Bimbo Jones), Luca Debonaire, and legendary artists like Jade Starling (Pretty Poison), Thelma Houston and KC & The Sunshine Band, Peace’s production stylings are in hot demand.
